Sketch updates via wifi...

Is anyone working on a way to have the module download and update its own firmware from a website? Checking for newer versions on startup and automatically updating would really be slick... I assume it would have to download the image first then reset and the bootloader would do the update.

I was asking the same question not too long agoe.

Have not managed to get it working yet but the thread was over here.

I believe you will need the latest staging version to attempt to get it working and if you have an esp 12 with the 4 mb flash you might get better results than me.

Please post up your code if you get it working as I am keen to get it going with one of my projects.

Doesn't the unit require a physical pin to be bridged/powered up in order to flash?

this "physical pin" is needed to get into the "boot loader" that allows flashing via serial.
If the SDK provides routines to access the flash memory, this is _another_ way to flash.
