Flash ESP-8266 with nodemcu using a mega 2560 n Arduino IDE?

I´m having bit of a struggle to flash my esp8266. Im pretty new to this stuff so please overlook my ignorance and I've scanned the cyberspace without any luck.
As the topic tells, I wanna flash my esp with nodemcu lua using a mega 2560 and with Arduino IDE. I have established connection with AT command. Im running a macbook. The goal is to integrate this ship with my home automation system.

I have the nodemcu-firmware, and what I could understand the fw is in one of the *.bin.
Is this possible?
