ESP8266 Community Forum

In looking at the GitHub https://github.com/esp8266/Arduino/tree/master/libraries/ESP8266HTTPClient repository for ESP8266HTTPClient, it looks like most of the API calls I currently use are being deprecated. It does not look like the GitHub version has made it the Arduino IDE yet. Is there any insight available to what is different and when it might make to the IDE?
