Merely shortening the METERs width and changing its background colour to red could offer an excellent switch/relay status indicator, allowing almost instantaneous webpage status updates showing either green or red states simply by sending it either max or min values.
Do a round version with an option for specifying colours, and it could offer a terrific LED status feedback indicator, capable of fast blinking in almost real time.
