Android App for GPIO control

Hi i am new to this forum and would like some help. I am making a simple wifi light controller using the ESP-01. I was wondering if the ESP can be controlled from an Android App. Thanks in advance

Absolutely.
The msgbranch can be used on the esp and app inventor has both visible and hidden web browser objects that can be controlled by buttons in the apps gui.

Thanks for your reply. Also i adapted the blink example to control the brightness of an led using a slider. Is it possible to output the pwm without pressing the send button.

Sure you will be able to use msgbranch on both ESP and App Inventor.
