ESP8266 Community Forum

I have purchased several ESP8266-7 modules from:

As per his description I connected CH_PD, RST, GPIO0 and GPIO2 together through a 3k3 resister to 3V3.

I do not get the startup message.

I have my solder tacked jumper break off so only CH_PD was pulled up and I get a serial stream from TxD.
But the baud rate seemed to be 13.25 uSEC ( which is not a standard baud rate).

Has this version 7 released any documentation ??

Today I have found that this module is in BootLoader mode.

I get a message at 75,470 baud at power up:

ets Jan 8 2013, rst cause:2, boot mode:(7,2)


Does the bootloader operate at such a strange baud rate ?

I have my ESP8266-7 module working now.

Lots of little things:
GPIO15 must be set to GND at boot up.
GPIO0 must be set to 3V3 at boot up.
GPIO2 must be set to 3V3 at boot up.

Also add a .1 uf cap to REST to GND.

For any others still having issues, it seems a batch with blue power leds and blue Rainsun antennas have the oscillators incorrectly placed. I managed to fix mine with an unregulated iron by eye but a hot air gun would make things much easier.
