One question: You find you don't have to do a reset after a CWMODE? I've always had to, and I believe the data sheet says it's required.

its just that I only have 3.3v ADP121 in my bin when my ESP module came, so i test it with, and it run without issue.
another esp module i have, is running with arduino pro micro. pro micro is using LP2985 for 3.3v, also rated at 150mA.

i just tested mine with CWMODE, all 3 modules i have dont need RST after issuing CWMODE.
and my host controller doesnt issue the command after every power up.
