#50374 There are some parts in the library that I found, ESP8266modules.lbr. And thanks to whoever put that together. But I now want to use a SMD module for a gadget that I intend to manufacture. I found what looks like the right part, called ESP12smd with the package ESP12-SMD. But what is missing from the description is what product this is designed for. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Thanks.

#50385 Hi, just a quick heads up on the ESP8266-12 footprint. The pads on the ESP extend further inwards than the board footprint, it solders fine so no problem with that. As you’ll be using a tonne of vias DON’T PUT THEM TO CLOSE TO THE BOARD PADS on the inside of the footprint or the ESP pads will short onto them :( not a problem if its for that pin but not good if its a different one.
If you print off the footprint and drop an ESP onto it you’ll see what I mean, nearer the middle the better.
