ESP8266 Community Forum

- Thu Jul 28, 2016 12:40 pm #51655 This should be a fast one for an expert to answer, but is it possible to use an ESP8266 as an MQTT broker, rather than just as a client? I'm trying to choose between rolling my own server, or using a web service, or any other option too. I've not seen many examples of it working successfully - is it actually possible on the ESP8266 architecture? I suspect it's possible but with fairly heavy limitations in the number of clients it can handle and the messages it can manage, but some guidance would be appreciated!
