ESP8266 Community Forum

I have a quick question, I have watched many videos where people are powering their i2c LCD 1602 with the VIN pin. Unfortunately I can't do that, I used a multimeter and found out that the VIN is giving only 0.25 - 0.3V. To get the job done I used VU pin, but I am still wondering why VIN has no 5V. Is my board defective? Thanks.
