#56317 Firstly I'll apologies as I'm sure this has been asked 100's of times but there is so much dis-information out there that I have run into a brick wall. After delving deeper I understand I don't need and UNO or Nano to be able to act as a micro-controller and that the ESP8266 can act as a standalone microcontroller. I will get there eventually. But at the moment I would like to use the Arduino UNO or Pro-mini to receive and send data from sensors, the ESP8266 will be the communication device connected to my local LAN. Is this possible? If so can someone point me in the right direction. If I could just get the two devices talking with a blink program I'd already be on my way. I did manage today to connect via the Arduino and use the Serial of the IDE but I want the arduino to do the work and the ESP to do the communication.
