- Wed Oct 12, 2016 1:00 pm #56425 I just got a NodeMCU 1.0 ESP-12E module, and tried a couple of things and it's working all great. I uploaded the default example called AdvancedWebServer and it also works great when I access it from a device on the same network. But when I try to access it via port forwarding it always fails. In the picture below is the configuration of my port forwarding:


As mentioned in the subject I'm using a Huawei HG8425 router, if that means anything. I might be missing something because I'm a beginner in this, usually I only work hardware.

- Fri Oct 14, 2016 3:35 am #56499 Port 53 is for DNS, and some ISPs block it; I would try another port. And be sure to test it from a machine outside your network, simply using the external IP address from a machine inside your network will not always work.

- Sat Oct 15, 2016 7:51 am #56554 I tried with multiple ports (such as 83 which is not reserved), but still failed. It might have to do something with firewall I guess. That would be tricky since this router interface doesn't have a direct firewall options menu.

- try ports over 1023.
- try query in a ADSL router or gaming forum.
- try to get a better router. I have had lots a bad headaches with Huawei routers doing whatever they want not what I configured them to do.
