Breadboard power regulator modules

Hi everyone,

The Ubiquitous "MB102 Breadboard Power Supply Module 3.3V 5V Solderless Bread Board DIY" advertised at your favourite bazaars claims an output of 3.3V < 700mA. Is this a bit squeaky tight for the ESP-01 and other modules? Anyone have any experience in this respect.

Example: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Breadboa ... 34407.html

Thanks

they work fine for me as long as i use a 12v 3a power supply as the input. a 5v 1a psu did not work (well).

I'm glad I checked the output voltages before I connected something to one of those. It overshoots by several volts on the 5V rail, probably due to a defective LDO since the 3.3V is OK.
I'm also glad I ordered two of them, since it takes over a month to ship from China to my place.

Good warning - I started checking my cheap power supplies a few years ago and so many are terrible beyond words.

When you open a really nasty one you just get a couple of transistors, a cap or two and a resistor! :o
