Hello,

Trying to get started and hitting roadblocks. My 01 was DOA. So I ordered an 07 05 and 11. Today I want to try to get the 07 working. Based on the info I found here ( viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1029 ) and on a ebay seller here is what I have.

CH_PD, RST, GPIO0,GPIO2, Vcc 3.3v
GPIO15, Gnd is Gnd
RXD to TX on FTDI232 (set for 3.3v)
TXT to RX on FTDI232 (set for 3.3v)

I can send AT commands, get respons from LED on both the FTDI and the ESP but no response. Any suggestions?

After speaking with the vendor I purchased from on ebay (tomyuen007) here is what wound up working.

My esp-07 is connected this way;
3.3v - Vcc
3.3v - CH_PD
Gnd - Gnd
Gnd - GPIO15
TX - RX
RX - TX

Using this for power http://www.ebay.com/itm/Power-Supply-Br ... 3cee532449
And this for TTL-USB http://www.ebay.com/itm/361071401255?_t ... :MEBIDX:IT

Both of the above boards are set to 3.3v. After setting those up In Tera Term I had to go to Setup/Terminal and set the New-Line to CR+LF for Transmit. After that its all working fine.

Everyone who is having the similar problem with the ESP07:
- Low power consumption (~25mA)
- No AT terminal
- esptool unable to program
- sometimes but not reliable the Red LED starts blinking or lit.
- some gribberis data come out randomly on TX

Desolder the shield and check the orientation of the XTAL.

I bouhgt two pieces from chipsupermarket vendor on ebay, and both had this issue.
