ESP8266 ESP-1, startup trouble

Hi pals. I've got the ESP8266.

I have a weird behaviour with my board ESP8266 ESP-1. The board after power only startup if I join the pin #3(CH_PD) and pin #5(Reset), if I leave both in up level and the whole combinations (obviously in line with the pin characteristics), the board doesn't startup.

I've followed the indications in the datasheet and youtube videos, and I've 4 boards and all of them have the same characteristics.

Some suggestions are welcome.

how are you powering the esp? Do you see anything come through on the serial line?

I have my reset pin pulled up via a 10k resistor but that won't make any difference. I do this so I can reset it via a button which grounds the pin.

I'm powering it with a 3v3 regulator (LD33CV), but I'm not seeing anything on the serial port. About the reset, I did it just like you the first time. I see the ready message in the serial console, only after joining the pins reset and ch_pd. :S
