Hi, noob question here. ESP8266 provides the implementation of different types of protocols but only 4 types of modes, how do I know what mode should I set for a different type of protocol?

Hi edu I've just found out that the modes that I meant Station/SoftAP/SoftAP+Station means that the esp8266 can be an beside access point but also a client or both at same time despite the protocol like Wifi-P2P, 802.11 b/g/n/e/i ... I didn't know what station was and googling it I didn't find an answer straight away so I thought the mode was associated with the protocol and described explicit somewhere. If I'm wrong please correct me.

It is strange that your googling didn't succeeded, as even Wikipedia is clearly explain what are the definitions of STA/AP/STA+AP ...
