I am reading the mac address of my router with this function in ESP8266:

WiFi.BSSIDstr()

and then I check the ARP table, and they don't match

What could be wrong?

considder that your router has different mac for ethernet and wifi.

I was not considering this,
I checked the arp table in windows CDM with arp -a
and in ubuntu with arp -n , those two matched, but not the one I get with ESP,

hmmm, still not making sense, because I am using wi-fi on my laptop, so I should get the wi-fi mac address from router when I run arp, right?
