Since the pop-up functionality of the standard dns-redirect method of handling a captive portal no longer triggers a pop-up on an increasing number of devices, I have been looking for other asynchronous capable server code for the ESP8266. Recently I stumbled on libesphttpd but I can't seem to find any good 'how to' type documentation on how you build it or for that matter anything else on a non-OS or freeRTOS platform for esp8266. (looking at freeRTOS itself, it doesn't seem to list esp8266 in the standard list of supported hardware)
Has anyone ever done this or is anyone aware of how I even get started trying to test this server platform out?
