I post this here because I don't see any specific subforum for reporting issues with the forum itself (suggestion: create one). Also I checked the github link but there doesn't seem to be a repository for the website itself or the forum.
Here's the issue.
In any decent forum, when you start a topic, you are subscribed to it by default unless you set it otherwise in your control panel (and the same goes for when you reply to an existing topic). Also, the type of subscription is usually, by default, such that you get an instant email notification when there is a new reply to the thread, again, unless you configure your CP otherwise. That's basic common sense, and that's what I would expect out of the box on a forum unless I change any settings in my profile.
Now I created a topic, I got an email notification when it got approved, and then someone replied and I didn't get any notification. I would never have known if I hadn't checked. Now I looked at my Control Panel and found out I am not even subscribed to the topic I created myself!
