- Wed Feb 27, 2019 12:51 am #80825 I need to measure the distance from the top of a well to the water - say 200 ft down. An SR04 does around 12 ft. Conditions: 8" pipe 360 ft to the pump, water level 200 ft. Anyone know of something that will do the trick?

needed info: level of pipe end below top of well

1) close the pipe at pump end
2) pump air into pipe until you get varying sensor readings
(air starts bubbling out the pipe at lower end)
3) convert reading to water level above pipe end
4) calculate water level below top of well
