- Mon Sep 30, 2019 8:13 pm #83984 I have a couple of -01's and have been able to Flash them to nodemcu or back to original at firmware with either the nodemcu flasher or Espressif's flasher with no problem. Now I have one 01S and the flasher runs on it but it's dead. It will work with Arduino for Blink and the webserver example. Espressif's flasher detect appears to detect it just like the 01. I'm lost. Bad module? Or just needs a different way to flash it?

Any help would be appreciated.

- Wed Oct 02, 2019 7:08 am #84003 Have a look at the flash chip (the one with 8 pins) and compare it with a working ESP: they're probably different.

If the used flash is made by Puya, you have to use a different way of flashing if I recall correctly.
I don't exactly know how or what, but a Google search should make things more clear.

Assumption is the mother of all f*ckups. At least: that's what I'm assuming.

- Wed Oct 02, 2019 12:03 pm #84008 I think the chip is an EN25F08, but can't find a spec sheet for it. Don't think it's puya. logo looks like xtx?
my good 01's have a T25s80 on them. It will load on Arduino (Blink, Webserver, etc) but won't flash AT or Nodemcu. Must be a new trick here?
