I wanted to know what is the use of the metal cover that exist on top of the ESP 12 module?

Does the module work properly without it?

- Mon Mar 02, 2020 5:02 pm #85918 RFI shielding. The unit will most likely work OK without it, but it will no longer pass any FCC compliance, and may generate interference that affects other units.

It may also generate interference that affects its own antenna so your range or transmission speed may be affected.
