Hi,

I'm experiencing difficulties to just power the wifi module.

I use a AMS1117 voltage regulator with two 10uF capacitors on each side. I also tried with 100uF on both sides or 100uF/1000uF The power source is a simple 9V battery and I also tried with a DC adapter. I also tried to put in series a 7805 and AMS1117.

I simply connect VCC and CH_PD to +3.3V and GND to GND. The blue led blinks for a second, and then turns off.

Normally, the blue link should remain turned on, right ?

Thanks.

No, Blue LED on ESP-12 won't remain on. It will turn on only when it connects to wifi and it receives/sends data.
BTW I am able to use 5 volt supply successfully with esp8266. I did not convert to 3.3 volt.

Thanks

May be you are not supplying enough current to the module?
Please measure voltage at module input AND current during startup.
