I'm not sure if is a requirement to flash the esp01 in order to use it.
And also what does "flashing" means in this context?

Do I need to flash esp01 in order to upload code ?

Hi,

I've followed some tutorials, but I could not get it to work.
I am using a USB to serial chip CH340 to plug Esp01 in but when I upload the code trough arduino ide it just can't connect, and it's giving an error

Which lead me to think that I was missing something, and suspected it was flashing.

In the tutorial videos on how to set esp01 no one mentioning that tho.

but then I see other tutorials to flash esp01.

that's why I was trying to figure what was flashing about
