- Fri Nov 13, 2020 11:07 pm #89431 Hi, I am using an 0.96oled display with ESP12F. But, surprisingly after running code for long time now started strange malfunctioning as below:-
1) Most of time it does not respond after powering it. No momentarily flasing of inbuilt led or OLED screen.
2) sometime it works for few seconds like 1 or 2 seconds. Few milliseconds means, I can see momentarily blink of inbuilt led and also display on OLED for few seconds and then stuck up display.


Is this strange behaviour due to using 12v source and then step down to feed 3.3v resulting in overheat?
One more thing, i tried to reflash too but esp not sensing. Also, esp12f module has no where written AI thinker. Is it fake module?

I studied on google throughly and came to know that all non AI-thinker ESP12F are faulty/fake/low quality and so with bad memory chip, having capabilities of only around 20 times flashing any code. Any expert can confirm, because code has nothing to do with hanging or crashing because same code works well on other new chip with same hardware and wiring setup.

Most of my modules are non AI-thinker, flashed umpteen times working for several years ....

without knowing what your sketch does and what messages - if any - show at boot time it would be reading a crystal ball. There even have been issues with he core wearing out the flash idependent of make and maker.
So your google-study is very questionable and I would recommend to start over again...
