#91811 I’m doin a project whit an ESP8266 board (AZDelivery D1 mini) and it takes several minutes to connect to the WiFi, after an afternoon of troubleshooting I found out that the problem it is related to how the board is powered and not software related.

Here is the wiring diagram, I’ve used an arduino uno because there is only that available in Tinkercad.

I made a list of considerations/things I’ve tried to do:

-I’m using a 5V 3A power supply
-There is a one meter shielded cable from the power supply to the board
-There is a 230V lightbulb near the electronics but even if it’s not powered the problem remains
-With or without the 10µF capacitor it doesn’t change anything
-Before adding the diode I was having the same problem even if the board was powered via usb
-I’ve tried to re-solder the ESP8266 connections to the pcb
-I’ve uploaded the sketch to another identical board and to an AZDelivery NodeMCU board, in both cases they connected in less then 10 seconds
-I’ve tried to change the power supply and I even tried to power everything via usb by splicing a cable but the problem remains
-I’ve tried to unsolder the cables that power the board and solder them to a usb micro cable to power the board via usb but nothing changed
-I remove the one meter cable and I powered everything near the circuit, it connect in 4 second with every power supply that I have
-I’ve tried to reattach the cable but with better terminals an it still worked

I was convinced I found the problem so I removed the terminals and soldered the wires together to be safe but I’m back where I started, now it takes 10 minutes to connect even via usb.

I don't know what to do anymore, I hope someone can help me

It appears it's not:

But, it's pretty confusing using an Arduino board instead; you might want to use something different, like (for instance) a DIP-16 socket or something.

Anyway: I've put the image on this forum, since images on ImgUr never last that long (and posts on this forum do).
