Hi all,

I am new comer to use esp8266. I have downloaded nodeMCU firmware programmer. now i dont have any FTDI232R or any USB-serial converter.I have PC avail with rs232 serial.

now i need to configure my esp8266 from serial port of my computer. Is that any circuit is needed to implement like max232. Can anyone tell me, how to flash my esp8266 using serial?

Thanks

Pon

There will be a way
Can you not secure an FTDI cable or board ? It must have 3.3 V only so if it gets more it could damage it.

yes, you can simply use max232 circuit for level convertion. if you want to power at 3.3v, max232 can run at 3.3v.

but the recommmended level converter @3.3v is max3232.
