Flashing issues

Hi
I have been playing with esp-12 for a few days and i have problémy when flashing.
Sometimes it throws error during flashing.
Sometimes it flashes OK but it shows error in bootloader.
When i try it again it sometimes shows error that it couldn't connect so i end up having to turn off power and connect again and sometimes its OK.
In everage it takes 2-4 tries to get it flashed and boot up correctly.

So my question is, is this normal ?
Well i doubt it. :D

Could it be power supply related? (12V)i've got cheap chinese breadboard thing that convert 12 to 3.3.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

12V to 3.3V? A lot to burn. I would expect it to get really hot and unstable.

Some of them are up to 30V input and 3.3 Out cal
I would say its just your wiring . They pull a lot of power and burn cheap chinese connectors . mine were pulling away from plastic often. Use solid wire if you can 250 mA bursts at least and its been suggested to have 450ma pulses every 100ms but I don't know I agree with that .

I found by sticking a decent cap between Vcc an Gnd, this made my Vcc a lot more stable and made the random reboots go away.
