Problems getting Started with ESP-12

Hi,

I accidently ordered 5 of the ESP-12, but then I was happy as I read what I probalby could do with this hardware.
But currently I got stuck in even get it up and running in "normal mode", meaning just by using the firmware which is on frome delivery and using AT commands.
The problem:
When I power up the unit, I got messages in 74800 Baud:
Code: Select allets Jan  8 2013,rst cause:2, boot mode:(3,7)

load 0x40100000, len 1320, room 16
tail 8
chksum 0xb8
load 0x3ffe8000, len 776, room 0
tail 8
chksum 0xd9
load 0x3ffe8308, len 412, room 0
tail 12
chksum 0xb9
csum 0xb9

2nd boot version : 1.3(b3)
  SPI Speed      : 40MHz
  SPI Mode       : QIO
  SPI Flash Size : 8Mbit
jump to run user1

And with 115200 Baud:
Code: Select allFatal exception (0):
epc1=0x40211b00, epc2=0x00000000, epc3=0x00000000, excvaddr=0x00000000, depc=0x00000000
Fatal exception (0):
epc1=0x4020133f, epc2=0x00000000, epc3=0x00000000, excvaddr=0x00000000, depc=0x00000000
... and more exceptions.

What I'v tried so far:
As I read here in the board, it may be cause by the power source. So I switched from the originally 3.3V from the YwRobot Power supply to 5V and put a seperate 5v-3.3V level shifter in between. Same result. The YwRobot Power supply itself is feeded by 5V with max. 680mA (which should be fair enough, shouldn't it?).

My current wiring:
H = 3.3V
L = GND

VCC= H
GND= L
CH_PD = H
GPIO0 = H
GPIOO2 = H
GPIO15 = L

I tried it now with 3 different chips. 2 of them were soldered on a breakout board. As I got the Idea, that I maybe burned them while soldering, I wired the 3rd one with "flying wires" meandy just putting the cables in the holes, but that didn't solve the problem either.

So I would be really lucky, if someone could help me getting this stuff running.

Thanks in advance
Scudi

Use pull up resistors not a drirect connection on GPIOs 0 & 2 as they are also used for UART communication. Anything between 1 & 10k will be fine.

Thanks for the fast response. I inserted yesterday 4.7k, but with no success. Maybe it was to late yesterday, so I will re-re-check everything when I am back.

You might have a bad firmware flash. Seeabout putting the latest on there.
