I just got one ESP8266-01, but it does not seem to be working. When I powering it up, red and blue LEDs stays on and I'm not getting any data on serial port.
I'm using external 3.3V power supply that can provide up to 700mA current and FTDI FT232 serial to USB converter running in 3.3V mode.
My connections looks like this:
ESP VCC - power supply VCC
ESP GND - power supply GND
ESP CH_PW - power supply VCC
ESP Tx - FTDI Rx
ESP Rx - FTDI Tx
FTDI GND - power supply GND

Have anyone seen such behaviour before ?
ESP is brand new, is it possible that it is simply damaged ?

- Sun Sep 27, 2015 5:28 am #29969 I've sorted it out, soldering quality wasn't very good and Blue LED was shorted, after scraping that invalid soldering, ESP boots correctly.

- Thu Jul 21, 2016 4:38 pm #51221 I am encountering this problem now...which part of connection may cause this problem??I am trying to check any short circuit so far but still unable to figure out...thanks in advance
