A problem with power up ESP8266

Hi guys,
Hope you're doing an exciting experience with the ESP8266 modules.
Here is my struggle. I just received a new ESP8266 module. At my first experiment, I just wanted to power it up.
I'm using an external 3.3V breakout board to power the module. I connected (Vcc & CH_PD) pins of the module to +3.3V of the power supply and the GND of the module to GND of the Power Supply.
The red LED in the module just lit up at the very first second of completing the circuit, then it goes off. and the power supply goes so hot and it's power LED gets so much dimmed.
the power supply works fine with any different device.
So I hope you guys help me out as quick as possible. I'm just at the first step of my journey with that module. and I'm locked up there.
Regards.
