A simple sleep by disable pin ?

There is something i just couldn't figure out .
The CH_PD pin , when on LOW , the chip is disabled. but what is the current then? it seems to me, there is still
the same current as with RF on . if thats true, whats the point of this pin ?

Another thing, you cant find anywhere , an AT command to put the chip to sleep forever . not with delay , but forever .

Any help would be appreciated .

Hi, I don't think deep sleep was ever considered when the AT commands where created.
With regard to deep sleep there are 740 posts on this site relating to various issues.
