I connected the ESP to my AP using AT+CWJAP=.
All fine.

Then I do:
AT+GMR
AT version:0.51.0.0(Nov 27 2015 13:37:21)
SDK version:1.5.0
compile time:Nov 27 2015 13:58:18
OK
AT+CWMODE_CUR=1

OK
AT+PING="192.168.1.1"
+2

OK
AT+CWMODE_CUR=3

OK
AT+PING="192.168.1.1"
+timeout

ERROR

Why do I get the timeout?

- Thu Jan 14, 2016 4:15 pm #38794 Perhaps the ESP disconnected from the AP after the "AT+CWMODE_CUR=3"? Did you try to connect again?

- Fri Jan 15, 2016 3:51 am #38830 Thats not the case. When I go back to cwmode=1, all is fine.
Also tried a new CWJAP but same result.

- Fri Jan 15, 2016 6:43 am #38838 After going into mode 3, I would check the network configuration on the ESP with a "AT+CWLIF" command.
