Hi there,
I was going to write on this forum related to a problem I was experiencing with my ESP8266-12 Dev board with battery holder not responding or ignoring commands once successfully flashed with nodemcu. Luckily I found the solution so I thought about writing it here: the dev board contains three pins (picture below) at the bottom with TX,RX and GND. As the board obtains power from the battery holder one could think that GND isn't needed (WRONG!) It is actually needed, otherwise any command you type doesn't get through...took me a while to found out.

For this an other challenges I found while interacting with this module I wrote a post that I am sharing here here.

Hope it saves time to many!
