Connecting to a wireless network via ESP8266 v13

As you can see on the topic, i have project for my school and i'm using Arduino Uno with the shield. I need to connect to the internet with v13 ESP8266 shield so i can send HTTP requests and POSTs and GETs for my project.
I'm new around here, sorry for anything absurd or wrong in advance, thx.
