Hi everyone,

I got a module but the welcome message upon power up is this:

[Vendor:www.ai-thinker.com Version:0.9.2.4]

Did I get stuck with a fake? If not which version is the module? There is a red SMD LED for power and another blue for data. Also strange that the module came talking 9600 which is different from the typical 115,200?

The GMR version prints out as 0018000902-AI03

Don't worry. They just stuck a custom firmware on it. No clones of the chip itself (yet). You can upgrade the firmware to the official one from espressif to get the latest functionality.

This link I have which is supposedly to "official firmware" also is that same version from ai-thinker.com. My boards came with that same version installed as well.
