How can I check whether my 3 ESP-12-F are all broken?

Some months ago, I bought 3 ESP-12F.
the AT firmware seemed to be broken (Every time I typed in a command, the ESP rebooted)
then I tried NodeMCU but that didn't work either
thirdly I tried flashing and executing some arduino example code, but this also didn't work
I used an FTDI232 and program via ubuntu.
I have a reliable power source.

So is there an easy method to check whether the esp is broken or not?

Hi, I have a the same issue, but not3 but 10 devices are out of order - I can not communicate with any of them. Also I can not flash it, there is no response from esp to the PC. Does not matter what usb/ttl of software I use...
All are esp-12f
The only think I could do is asking refund from the seller /banggood /

Have you tried flashing it with 512k file (see attachment):
this saved me several times

It didn't worked.
I tried it with
Code: Select allsudo ./esptool/esptool.py --port /dev/ttyUSB0 write_flash 0x000 nodemcu_512k_20141212.bin

First esptool gave an an error every time I tried flashing:
Code: Select allConnecting...
Erasing flash...
Writing at 0x00058400... (69 %)
A fatal error occurred: Invalid head of packet


After repowering the whole circuit the flashing worked.
Then I resetted the ESP and changed GPIO0 from GND to VCC
Over 9600 baud I got this output:
