two ESP

need this two mobiles to have connection from far distance ,,,
is there a way to use 2 or 3 esp(s) between these two mobiles ???
i tried this: set 2 esp8266 in station and access point mode ,connect mobile 1 to esp1 and esp1 to esp2 and esp2 to mobile2 but didnt work.
