#45953 I would be happy to back a Kickstarter for an ESP8266 version of the AAduino. AAduino is an Arduino AVR 328+ISM radio in the form factor of an AA battery. It fits inside a 3xAA battery box and runs off 2 AA batteries. For the ESP version, a 4xAA case makes more sense because WiFi needs more power.

#45955 Since QFN32 is difficult to solder as a DIY project, the only way I see similar thing done with ESP01 with only GPIO2/GPIO0.
But this is maybe enough with an PCF8574 which give 8 GPIOs, and maybe along with some temp sensor such LM75.
