My question is pretty much as the title. Is the ESP8266 product ready?
We are looking for a reliable and robust WiFi chip. The design would be built straight onto a board and we would not be using the existing modules apart from development.
I have seen over the months that software bugs of various sorts pop up from time to time. Is there a stable platform available at this time.
The features that we will require are as follows.
AP mode for the user to access and configure the details to allow the device to then connect to a router for internet access.
The ability to send and receive data from a website. The device will be updating data on a website for retrieval later on.
Finally, what sort of security do these have available. Are they secure when connected to a local network or is there anything more that can be added?
