Lesen von pwd vom Client, um eine Verbindung mit AP herzuste

At first I want to say, that I'am new at ESP8266, but have some experience with regular Arduinos.
My Setup:
I'am using a board like the NodeMCU. It works well with the Arduino IDE and the ESP libary.
Problem:
A sketch for a softAP is already running and it works, now i want to use the password in my sketch, wich the client or station transferes to my ESP to connect to the AP, but I have no idea how to do that and couldn't find any answer.
