That would be great.
Having an easy way for the casual esp-open-sdk user to get an useful gdb for esp8266 I like to have.
I hope to increase the number of people wanting one.

It's only version bump, I haven't done anything for the gdb itself. Can put temporary fixes to local-patches for now.
