#3816 - use TERMITE 3.1
- check your USB to TTL on device manager (no yellow signs)
- baud 57600 (mine is v080)
- append CR-LF

other than this you have an HW problem

#3850 Thank you l0ur3nz0 for this hint. I tried Termit with your setting but it didn'help. My USB/TTL adapler is correctly detected by W8 and Termit can see the COM port asigned to it.
It must be a HW issue... so I ordered 4 more ESP 8266 from 2 different providers.

Jacques

#3862 W8?

Which adapter? If it is a PL2303HX (cheap Chinese?) it is not supported on W8 by Prolific and you need to use old drivers to get it going. You must check device manager for yellow icon on your device.

Try other baudrate on termite, also. As I said mine is an older version.

Also, post some photos of your setup. I also thought mine was DoA...

#3880 My USB/TTL is Silicon Labs CP210x and it works fine on W8.1 . I use it to uplode sketches to Aduino Pro without any touble. As for baudrate, I tried all values from 9600 to 115200. I don't even get "ready" from ESP8266. I can't either find it on WiFi (it should announce on WiFi as an AP without sending any AT commands, right ?).
I think both of my ESP are from a defective series. I'm looking forward to receiving 4 other ESP I've recently ordered.

Jacques
