Bananis: thanks for pointing out that reverse engineered version, it makes a good starting point.
igrr: It's very appealing not having to duplicate the libraries although it feels a little on the risky side as I think you'd definitely want the ability to upgrade them at some point if they change.
I've asked over on the ESP board for the source, hopefully they'll release it as it would be pretty useful to have it.
