Anyone using or have tried implementing a MODBUS over TCP using ESP8266. I am exploring the options. Looking for any pointers... or feedback of those who have tried.

I am looking at the chip as modbus slave - responding to modbus client but over TCP rather than using serial. Somewhat on the lines of esphttd server but more focussed on modbus rather than overheads of httpd server. This can be hooked up to other MODBUS client (MODBUS master in RTU speak) IP address can be used to identify the node. GPIOs will then be linked to the sensors / actuators

i am also looking to implement this capability and include Modbus server ( slave ) in to the ESP8266. as now i am looking for freelancer that can make this happens.
