- Fri Jul 17, 2015 11:59 am #23514 Yes, very interesting. My PIR is also a 5V unit but I found a tip that they could be powered from 3.3v by applying the power to a different pin which bypasses the regulator. See this link:

I will have to try powering the PIR from a separate 5v supply and see if that helps. I'll try that tonight and report back with what happens.
