Zero crossing detection is not needed at all if you don't wish to do dimmers with the SSR.

Zero crossing detection is not needed at all if you don't wish to do dimmers with the SSR.

When I find a small and cheap zero-crossing detection circuit, it might be a good addition to enable lights dimming, when I already have the SSR's because of other reasons.

Sharp PC814 is one example, they cost around $0.15 each when purchased in lot.
