Yes, already have something like that, but the ESP's lines are controlled over an I2C I/O extender because my USB->serial break-out-print doesn't give access to the DTS/CTR lines (exactly the same problem...)

Having those transistors driving RES and GPIO0 doesn't prevent of using GPIO2/GPIO0 as an I2C bus.

Sorry, that was too short a shortcut. The I2C I/O expander is driven from my computer, not the ESP. I am using two of the outputs to pull the ESP's GPIO0 and RST. All because the USB->serial converter doesn't allow access to the DTS/CTR lines. Just like the ebay converter.
