Use less 10k. Pin included a built-pullup to VCC.

I tried that when I arrived back home today. Confirmed that the voltage level on GPIO15 is a logical 0 with the smaller pulldown R but still same behavior as before.

#9855 Hey pietrushnic,

have you solved your problem? I have similiar setup with ESP-01 and the same problem. Only "one-way" connection. If I plug in the USB-cable into my pc instead of the 5V supply everything works fine. But with external supply I get the same problems like you.

#9956 Unfortunately not. Tried several modules and essentially exchanged every external component (power supply, FTDI, ...) without success.
No time right now to further test but I'm about to order another set of modules from a different supplier to ensure it's really not just a bad batch.
