That's a fiducial marker for the placer and the AUI.

- Fri Dec 05, 2014 6:34 am #4043 I received the module today. What I see is that the flash is bigger - Winbond 2Mbytes. It's nice to have some more flash space, but I am wondering if this could prove problematic with pre-built firmwares (like nodemcu)?
If I remember right, somewhere it was declared that the chip works with 512K or 4Mbytes flash (or maybe it was "from 512K to 4Mbytes" types?).
In fact there is no ufl connector soldered on the board, but it is supposed to be so.
